Meet Alma

Hi, I’m Alma. Venezuelan, professionally trained in Cosmetology and Integral Aesthetics in Colombia, and the founder of Get Organized by Alma.

My path here wasn’t exactly a straight one. Moving countries meant starting over, and like many immigrants, I worked wherever life took me (from childcare to retail) while figuring out what came next.

Somewhere along the way, I realized how much peace I found in organizing. When so much around me felt uncertain, organizing gave me something tangible I could change right away. I could take a space that felt overwhelming, make sense of it, and immediately feel the difference.

Eventually, I realized I could do that for other people too.

Today, I bring together the things that have always come naturally to me: an eye for beauty, attention to detail, problem-solving, and a genuine love for making things work better.

Get Organized by Alma grew from something that gave me peace into a business that lets me create a little more of it in someone else's home.

And yes, I still get ridiculously excited when everything finally has a home.

My Philosophy

A good system doesn’t prevent chaos. It makes returning to order easier.

Your home doesn’t need to stay perfect. It needs systems that make sense for the people who live there.

Use what makes sense

You don’t need a container for everything. I use what you already own whenever it works and recommend products when they actually improve the system.

Keep what serves you

Decluttering can be part of organizing, but I’m not here to decide what you should own. My job is to help you see what you have and make intentional decisions about your space.

Design for real life

A system isn’t successful because it looks perfect on day one. It’s successful when it’s easy to use, and easy to come back to when life gets messy.

Products with a purpose

I don’t believe every item needs a bin or every pantry needs matching containers. We’ll use what you already have when it works, and I’ll recommend products when they genuinely make your space easier to use.

Every project starts with a free consultation.

We’ll talk about your space, what isn’t working, how you use it, and what you’d like to change. From there, I’ll create a plan tailored to your home and send your project quote within 24 to 48 hours.

    Kitchens & Pantries

The room you use most, set up around how you actually cook and shop.

  2. 02

    Closets

You can see what you own, so getting dressed stops being a decision you dread.

  3. 03

    Storage Spaces

Seasonal and overflow items stay findable, year after year.

  4. 04

    Offices

Paper stops piling up because it finally has somewhere to go.

  5. 05

    Moving & Unpacking

Settle in once, properly, instead of living around boxes for a year.

How It Works

Four steps, start to finish

  1. 01

We meet & make a plan

We start with a free consultation to talk through your space, your routines, what’s working, and what’s not. After the consultation, I’ll create a realistic plan around how you actually live and send your project quote by email within 24 to 48 hours.

No pressure. You’ll have the information you need to decide whether you’d like to move forward.

  2. 02

    I get to work

Once the project is approved, you don’t need to spend the entire session organizing beside me. I can work independently and handle the process for you.

If decluttering is needed, you’re welcome to participate as much as you’d like, but you don’t have to hover over every decision. I’ll set aside anything that needs your input and ask questions whenever I’m unsure.

No judgment. No pressure to get rid of things. You always have the final say over what stays and what goes.

  3. 03

    I build the system

This is where I solve the puzzle. I sort, categorize, rethink placement, and create a system around the way you actually use the space.

I’ll use what you already own whenever it works and recommend products only when they genuinely improve the system. The goal isn’t to make everything fit into matching containers. It’s to make the space make sense.

As the project wraps up, I take care of the finishing details and, when possible, can take donation items and smaller discard loads with me so you’re not left with another task to finish.

  4. 04

    You enjoy it

Once everything is in place, I’ll walk you through the finished space so you know where everything lives and why the system was designed that way. Then it’s yours to live in.

Your home doesn’t have to stay picture-perfect. The system is there to make everyday life easier, and to make finding your way back to order much simpler when life inevitably happens.

01 · Laundry Room

More space wasn’t actually the answer.

Challenge
The laundry room had plenty of storage, but without clear categories it felt overcrowded. The client thought much of it would need to move into the garage just to free up the space above the washer. Limited mobility also made accessibility an important part of the plan.
What I did
I grouped like items together, reorganized the existing storage around what was easiest to reach and use, and consolidated a large number of duplicates and extras so the client could actually see what she already had before buying more.
Result
Nothing needed to be pushed into another room just to create space. The laundry room could hold what it needed to hold, with clearer categories, better visibility, and everyday items kept within easier reach.
